Local restaurants gain great publicity and the chance to interact with potential customers face-to-face thanks to our annual Munchtime Express campaign.
On the Looe Valley Line every Tuesday lunchtime in November a different restaurant serves up a free taster lunch to rail passengers. Organised by the Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership with train operator Great Western Railway (GWR), the campaign gets great coverage in the local press, and restaurants get involved year after year as they have found it is a great way to drum up new business.

At the end of the events, it’s been known for restauranteurs to return to their restaurant with a procession of “munchtimers” in tow, eager to make bookings. The event has grown in popularity each year – with each of 2015’s Munchtime events sold out a week in advance.

For news of this year’s dates, keep an eye on the sign-up page on our Great Scenic Railways website .
